I'll throw this out as it was one of the things I found most fun with The Albatross in Whispers of a Time Forgotten.
I REALLY enjoyed getting to research on Emperor Norton. He is one of those oddities in American History that most people aren't aware of..and his biography was fascinating reading. I highly recommend it if you like the odd little parts of history.
